The free report you are entitled to
TransUnion CIBIL is India's oldest credit bureau, and its CIBIL Score (300–900) is the one most people mean by "credit score". Under RBI rules CIBIL must give you one free full report with your score every year. The site also sells monthly subscriptions; you do not need one to see your report.
Step by step
- Open cibil.com yourself — type the address, don't follow a link from an SMS or a stranger.
- Look for the free annual credit report (the RBI asks every bureau to show it clearly).
- Enter your name, date of birth, PAN (or another ID the site asks for), mobile number and email.
- Confirm with the OTP sent to your mobile, and answer the identity questions if CIBIL shows them.
- Download the report as a PDF and keep it — note the date, so you know when your next free one is due.
If the site says no report was found, check that your PAN, date of birth and the mobile number you gave lenders match exactly.
What you will see
- The score, 300 to 900. Above about 750 is generally seen as good.
- NH or NA instead of a number — "no history" or not enough history yet (often under six months). It is not a bad score; it means lenders have little to go on. See is CIBIL needed for a first loan.
- Accounts: every loan and card, its status and a month-by-month payment record (000 or STD means paid on time).
- Enquiries: every lender that checked your report.

After you check
- An account you don't recognise, a wrong late payment or a loan shown open after you closed it: raise a dispute — it is free.
- Want a higher score: how to increase your CIBIL score.
- Planning a loan: check your score a month or two before you apply, so there is time to fix errors.
Oxon Fintech is a loan facilitation platform, not a credit bureau. We do not check, sell, repair or change credit scores; get your report from the bureaus' own websites. Rules as checked on the date above.
