Who supplies your gas
Household LPG comes from three public sector oil companies: Indane (Indian Oil), Bharat Gas (BPCL) and HP Gas (HPCL). Your consumer number and distributor are on your gas book or last receipt.
Ways to book a refill
- The company's app or website, or the common portal mylpg.in.
- WhatsApp, SMS or IVRS / missed call to your company's booking number from your registered mobile (the numbers are on each company's website and your gas book).
- UPI and banking apps — many let you book and pay for an LPG refill through Bharat Connect.
At delivery
You'll get a delivery authentication code (DAC) by SMS when the cylinder is out for delivery; give it to the delivery person only when you have the cylinder. Check the seal and the weight if you have doubts.
Price and subsidy
- Oil companies revise LPG prices every month, usually on the 1st, and the price differs by city. The current price for your city is on the company's website.
- Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries receive a targeted subsidy per cylinder, for a set number of refills a year, straight into their bank account. Check the current amount and your status on mylpg.in.
- Make sure your Aadhaar is linked and eKYC is complete with your distributor, or subsidy and bookings can be held up.
Safety
- Turn off the regulator after cooking; use only ISI-marked rubber tubes and change them as advised.
- Smell gas? Don't switch lights or appliances on or off; open doors and windows, turn off the regulator and call the LPG emergency helpline 1906.
Pay safely
- Pay through the biller's own app or website, your bank, or a UPI app — look for the Bharat Connect mark.
- Never pay through a link in an SMS or WhatsApp message, and never call a number from a message threatening disconnection. Billers don't ask you to install screen-sharing apps.
- Keep the transaction reference ID; it is what you quote in a complaint.
- You never need your UPI PIN to receive money; anyone who asks for it is a fraudster.
Oxon Fintech does not sell recharges or collect bill payments. Plan prices and benefits are the operators' own, as listed on the date above; they change often and can differ by telecom circle, so confirm in the operator's app before paying.
