Having the right documents ready is the easiest way to avoid delays. Lenders may ask for slightly different things, but most applications need the documents below.
For everyone: identity and address (KYC)
- PAN card — mandatory for a loan
- Aadhaar or another officially valid address proof — passport, voter ID or driving licence
- A recent photograph, if the lender asks
For salaried applicants: income proof
- Salary slips for the last few months
- Bank statements showing your salary credits — usually for the last 3 to 6 months
- Form 16 or your income tax return, if the lender asks
For self-employed applicants: income and business proof
- Income tax returns, often for the last one to two years, with the computation of income
- Profit and loss statement and balance sheet, where available
- Business proof — GST registration, Udyam certificate, shop licence or professional registration
- Bank statements of your main account — usually for the last 6 to 12 months
Bank statements, the digital way
With Oxon Fintech you don't need to download, print or upload bank statements. They are shared directly from your bank through the RBI-regulated Account Aggregator framework, with your consent. You choose the account and approve; nothing moves without your approval, and no password is ever shared.
Tips to avoid delays
- Make sure details match — your name, date of birth and address should be the same on PAN, Aadhaar and your bank account.
- Use clear, complete copies if you upload anything — all pages, nothing cut off.
- Keep your mobile number linked to Aadhaar and your bank account; OTPs are used for consent and e-signing.
- Never share your OTP, UPI PIN or net-banking password with anyone, including anyone claiming to be from a lender. See how to avoid loan fraud.
