For years, applying for a loan meant downloading PDFs of bank statements, printing them, getting them stamped, and sometimes sharing your net-banking password with an agent. The Account Aggregator (AA) framework replaces all of that with a secure, consent-based digital flow — and it is how Oxon Fintech checks your banking history.
What is an Account Aggregator?
An Account Aggregator is an RBI-regulated NBFC (licensed as an NBFC-AA under the RBI's 2016 Master Direction) whose only job is to move your financial data from where it is held to where you want it to go — with your consent, and only for the purpose you approve. The AA itself cannot read, store or sell your data; it only carries it, encrypted.
There are three parties:
| Party | Who they are | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Financial Information Provider (FIP) | The bank or institution that holds your data | Your bank |
| Account Aggregator (AA) | The licensed consent manager | An RBI-licensed AA |
| Financial Information User (FIU) | The regulated entity that wants to use the data | A lender assessing your loan |
How it works, step by step
- You get a consent request. It states exactly what data is asked for (for example, statements of one savings account), for what purpose (loan assessment), for how long, and how often.
- You log in to the AA with your mobile number and an OTP, and see your linked bank accounts.
- You choose the account(s) and approve — or reject. Nothing moves without your approval.
- Your bank sends the data, encrypted, through the AA to the lender. The bank and the AA confirm the consent is genuine.
- You can revoke the consent at any time from the AA app.
Is it safe?
The framework was built with privacy at its core:
- Explicit, granular consent — you see and approve every request.
- No passwords shared — you never give your net-banking login to anyone.
- Encrypted end to end — the AA cannot see what it carries.
- Purpose-limited — data can be used only for the purpose in the consent.
- Regulated parties — banks, AAs and lenders on the network are all regulated entities.
Why it helps your loan application
- Faster decisions — the lender receives verified statements directly from your bank in minutes, not days.
- No document chase — no PDFs, printouts or bank visits.
- Fewer errors and no tampering doubts — the data comes straight from the source, so it is trusted.
- A fairer view of your finances — your real cash flow is considered, which helps first-time borrowers and self-employed people whose income doesn't fit a payslip.
How Oxon Fintech uses Account Aggregator
When you apply for a personal loan or a business loan through Oxon Fintech, we may send you an Account Aggregator consent link. You choose the account, approve the consent, and your statements are shared digitally to assess your eligibility and match you with suitable lending partners. Your data is used only for that purpose, as set out in our privacy policy.

This guide is general information, not financial advice. Interest rates, fees, eligibility and other terms are set by each lender and can change; the figures in examples are illustrative only. Oxon Fintech is a loan facilitation platform, not a lender — loans are sanctioned and disbursed by our lending partners.
