Lenders ask for slightly different documents depending on the type of business and the loan amount. Keep these ready to avoid back-and-forth.
For every business
- PAN of the applicant and of the business
- KYC of the owner, partners or directors — Aadhaar or another officially valid document
- Business address proof
- GST registration and recent returns, where the business is registered
- Bank statements of the main business account — usually for the last 6 to 12 months
- Income tax returns — often for the last one to two years — and financial statements, if available
Business proof, by type of business
| Business type | Documents usually asked for |
|---|---|
| Sole proprietorship | Udyam certificate, GST registration, shop and establishment licence or trade licence |
| Partnership firm | Partnership deed, firm PAN, partners' KYC |
| LLP | LLP agreement, certificate of incorporation, partners' KYC |
| Private limited company | Certificate of incorporation, MOA and AOA, board resolution, directors' KYC |
| Professionals | Professional registration certificate (for example, medical or CA registration) |

Tips to avoid delays
- Make sure the business name and address match across PAN, GST and bank records.
- Keep recent GST returns filed and downloadable.
- Get your free Udyam registration if you don't have it.
- Keep the owner's KYC up to date and mobile numbers linked for OTPs.
