What to watch at ₹1 lakh
If you plan to repay early, check the part-prepayment and foreclosure terms in the Key Fact Statement before you sign — see personal loan prepayment and foreclosure. Using ₹1 lakh to pay off expensive card debt can lower your monthly outgo, but only if you stop adding to the card.

Eligibility
Lenders look at your income, existing EMIs, credit score, job or business stability and banking history. As a rough guide, an EMI of about ₹4,896 (16%, 24 months) fits within half of a take-home income of around ₹10,000 a month if you have no other EMIs. Most lenders also set their own minimum monthly income, often higher than that, so the higher of the two applies — check your own numbers with the loan eligibility calculator. See the full personal loan eligibility guide.
